The QT JukeBox Software package consists of two programs. One called "Playlist Composer" and the other called "QT JukeBox" . Playlist composer allows you to make playlists. These playlists can only contain any file that is readable by the Quicktime Player (MIDI,Quicktime formatted Video, MP3, AIFF, etc..) . This allows your playlist to incorporate MIDI songs and music video's along with your favorite MP3's!
What's New:
•Playlist Jump List. Simple Go back to QT JukeBox when you want to go to another song and click 'Song List' . A list will soon appear. Now just double click on the song you want to go to and voila!
•Allows you to repeat a playlist. If you don't respond to the dialog that asks you if you want to repeat, it will automatically start repeating the list.
•You can now have the playlist repeat for as LONG as you want may it be 4 hours or 2 days!
•You can now double click on a playlist anywhere to launch it and play it!
•The Playlist Composer has now been updated with the following features:
° You can now edit previously made lists
° You can now add or delete songs or just do both!
° Now supports the editing of playlists by just dragging the lists onto the icon!
Did you know...
• You an select multiple songs to delete when you are editing your playlist. In order to do this you just have to hold down the [APPLE KEY] .
• QT Jukebox will automatically skip songs that are missing or can't be found.
Why? With Quicktime being able to support MP3's I decided to make a playlist composer for it. The reason for this was I didn't want to have to have a separate MP3 program to play MP3's in a playlist. All of this was not possible until Apple released QuickTime 4.1 . So now folks, you can create Playlists for the QuickTime Player!
Requirements? Power Mac running MacOS 8.5 or greater with Quicktime 4.1 and Applescript installed.
How do I use it? In order to make a playlist you first run Playlist Composer. Then follow the on screen instructions. But remember, there is a Maximum of 18 songs per playlist and once you create a playlist you cannot edit it. (Well not yet although I will have in editor out really soon!) You can then save the playlist where you feel like it. I suggest you put it into the Playlist folder.
Now that you are done making your playlist all you have to do to start QT JukeBox. Then follow the on screen instructions. At this point if you have any playlists in the folder QT JukeBox will ask you if you would like to use any of them. Then sit back and relax and watch QT JukeBox play all the songs in your playlist!
Where can I get MP3's from? If you don't have an MP3 encoder you can download free MP3's from www.mp3.com If
you have an MP3 encoder then you can encode any song off a CD and add it to your playlist.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q: When I use QT JukeBox to run a certain playlist I notice that it skips this one song every time, why does it do that?
A: Make sure that all the songs you put into the list are in the same place as when you first selected them . If you moved any of your songs in the list it will lose track of them and will not play them because it could not find them. If you are certain that you did not move any of your music please e-mail the author.
Q: Is there anyway I can get the code to QT JukeBox?
A: Yes, since Kekoa has no intention of using the code in any commercial product he has choosen to distribute the source code. IF he thinks there enough demand for it. What this means is if you want the code then e-mail him and if enough people e-mail him he will release it.
Q: When I tried to download QT JukeBox it said the archive was "Corrupted" when I tried to unstuff it, why is that?
A: This occured when I first uploaded the archive with IE. For some reason Internet Explorer did not upload the entire archive. I then used Netscape to upload the archive and it uploaded the entire. Sadly to say over 1,000 people downloaded it before I could update it! :-( [Only Applies to Version 1.0.1]
What’s in the Goodies folder? The Website Folder which contains 3 websites that I suggest everyone go to if they enjoyed this software or working on Mac's. A another program called Converter. Use this program to change the file and creator types of files to that of QuickTime movies. In order to use this program just drag the files you want to change onto its icon and it will change the types. (DO NOT DRAG ANYTHING OTHER THAN FILES ON IT!)
